Diss' geographic response mapping provides an instant picture of where in the UK promotion
applications have been recieved. The map is colour coded based on the number of responses in
each area.
The areas on the map are:
- North East
- North West
- South East
- South West
- East Midlands
- West Midlands
- East of England
- London
- Yorkshire and the Humber
- Wales
- Scotland
- Northern Ireland
These are the same regions used in the 2001 UK Census, for more information go to
http://www.statistics.gov.uk/census2001/.
There are 2 types of map available, a standard responses map and a responses per million
population map. The standard response map shows the total responses in each region, it is colour coded
depending on the number of responses. The responses per million map is designed to give an impression of the
popularity of the promotion in an area rather than the raw figures. For example, there are often a very
large number of responses to a promotion from the south east, this is often more due to the large population
rather than the poularity of the promotion. Responses per million is a more regulated figure, similar to a
percentage of the population.
